ADC Cytotoxin
Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are targeted cancer therapies that combine the specificity of antibodies with the potent cytotoxic effects of drugs. The cytotoxin in an ADC is a powerful chemical that can kill cancer cells. ADCs are designed to deliver these cytotoxins directly to the cancer cells by attaching them to antibodies that specifically recognize and bind to antigens present on the surface of cancer cells. Once bound, the ADC is internalized by the cancer cell, and the cytotoxin is released, killing the cell while sparing most healthy cells. This targeted approach minimizes side effects and maximizes the therapeutic impact, making ADCs a promising treatment for various types of cancer.
