MAPK/ERK Pathway
The MAPK/ERK signaling pathway, also known as the Raf/MEK/ERK pathway, is the main signaling pathway in the MAPK signaling pathways. The MAPK pathway is activated by a variety of extracellular and intracellular stimuli, including peptide growth factors, cytokines, hormones, and various cellular stressors. The main functions of the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway include regulating cell proliferation, transformation, differentiation, and apoptosis. MAPK/ERK pathway is involved in regulating various growth and differentiation pathways through multiple phosphorylation cascades, and it is related to the development of many human diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and various cancers. Therefore, the development of small-molecule drugs that selectively inhibit individual components of the MAPK/ERK pathway signaling pathway is a key therapeutic strategy for cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
