Src
Src is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a pivotal role in regulating cell growth, differentiation, survival, migration, and angiogenesis. As a key component of multiple signaling pathways, Src kinase activity is crucial for both normal cellular functions and pathological processes. Its activation is involved in the signaling cascades of growth factor receptors and integrins. Overactivation of Src has been implicated in the development and progression of various cancers, as it enhances oncogenic traits like proliferation, invasion, and metastasis. Given its central role in cancer biology, Src has become a major target for therapeutic intervention. Inhibitors of Src, such as dasatinib, are currently used to treat specific types of cancer, particularly where Src activity is abnormally high.
