Steroids
The steroid is a general term for a large class of cyclopentahydrophenanthrene derivatives widely distributed in the biosphere. They exist in all animals and plants, also known as steroids. Steroids mainly include sterols, bile acids, bile alcohols, steroid hormones, etc. The most vital role of steroids in biological systems is as hormones. In human physiology and pharmacology, the most important steroids are cholesterol, and steroid hormones, among which steroid hormones combine with relevant receptor proteins to produce physiological responses, which can trigger gene transcription and cell function changes.
