GPI-1046(Cat No.:R041687) is an immunophilin ligand known for its ability to reduce ethanol intake by upregulating the expression of glutamate transporter 1 (GLT1) in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) and nucleus accumbens (NAc) core. It does not possess antibiotic properties. Being an analog of FK506, GPI-1046 exhibits neuroprotective effects in models of neurodegenerative diseases. It easily crosses the blood-brain barrier and promotes the regeneration of dopamine cells in the central nervous system, leading to functional recovery in rodent models. GPI-1046 has also shown improvements in HIV-associated peripheral nerve injury.
