1-Decene (CAS 872-05-9) is a colorless watery liquid with a pleasant odor. It can float on water. 1-decene is an alkene that is octadecane containing one double bond at position 1. It is used as a comonomer in copolymers and is an intermediate in the production of epoxides, amines, oxo alcohols, synthetic lubricants, synthetic fatty acids and alkylated aromatics.
