5-<wbr></wbr>methoxy AMT (5-<wbr></wbr>MeO AMT) is a potent psychoactive analog of 5-<wbr></wbr>methoxy DiPT (Item No. <span class=/itemid/>11865</span>) and α-<wbr></wbr>methyltryptamine (AMT), tryptamine derivatives that inhibit reuptake and stimulate release of monoamines. 5-<wbr></wbr>MeO AMT inhibits re-<wbr></wbr>uptake (IC<sub>50</sub>s = 0.18, 2.9, and 3.37 μM) and stimulates release (EC<sub>50</sub>s = 1.5, 460, and 8.9 μM) of dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine, respectively from rat brain synaptosomes. 5-<wbr></wbr>MeO AMT, sometimes called Alpha-<wbr></wbr>O, has been sold under the guise of LSD and abused as a recreational drug. This tryptamine analog is intended only to be used to aid the forensic analysis of samples that may contain this compound or for scientific research applications.
