7-Aminoactinomycin D (Cat No.:R000100) is a fluorescent DNA-binding dye commonly used in flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy to assess cell viability and DNA content. It binds to double-stranded DNA and emits fluorescence, but only in cells with compromised cell membranes, indicating cell death or apoptosis. 7-AAD is particularly useful for distinguishing live from dead cells in apoptosis assays, as it cannot penetrate intact cell membranes. Additionally, it can be used to measure DNA content in cell cycle analysis, helping researchers analyze cellular responses to various treatments or conditions.
