8-Nitrotryptanthrin(CAT I004862) has also been shown to inhibit the activity of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 2 (IDO2), an enzyme involved in tryptophan metabolism and immune regulation. By inhibiting IDO2 activity, 8-Nitrotryptanthrin can reduce the production of kynurenine, an immunosuppressive metabolite that contributes to tumor immune escape. This mechanism of action makes 8-Nitrotryptanthrin a promising candidate for cancer immunotherapy. It has been shown to enhance the antitumor immune response and inhibit tumor growth in preclinical studies. However, its clinical use is limited by its poor solubility and bioavailability
