Ac-DEVD-AMC(Cat No.:I013092)is a synthetic peptide substrate used in assays to measure caspase-3 activity, a key enzyme in the execution phase of apoptosis (programmed cell death). The peptide sequence “DEVD” is specifically recognized and cleaved by caspase-3. The “AMC” (7-amino-4-methylcoumarin) group is a fluorescent marker, which emits fluorescence upon cleavage of the peptide. This allows for quantitative detection of caspase-3 activation. Ac-DEVD-AMC is widely used in apoptosis research, drug discovery, and screening to assess the role of caspase-3 in cellular responses to various stimuli and potential therapeutic interventions.
