Ac-LEHD-AFC(Cat No.:R024438)is a synthetic peptide substrate used in biochemical assays to measure caspase-9 activity. The peptide consists of the sequence LEHD (which is a recognition site for caspase-9) conjugated to a fluorescent molecule, AFC (7-amino-4-trifluoromethylcoumarin). When cleaved by caspase-9, the peptide releases the AFC moiety, which emits fluorescence that can be quantitatively measured. This assay is commonly used in cell biology and apoptosis research to study caspase-9 activation, which is a critical enzyme in the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis (programmed cell death), allowing for the evaluation of cellular responses to various stimuli.
