Ac-YVAD-pNA(Cat No.:R028705)is a synthetic peptide substrate commonly used in biochemical research to measure caspase-1 activity. The peptide consists of the sequence YVAD (tyrosine-valine-alanine-aspartic acid) conjugated to the chromogenic substrate pNA (p-nitroaniline). Caspase-1 is an enzyme involved in the inflammatory response, particularly in the activation of pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-1β. Upon cleavage of Ac-YVAD-pNA by caspase-1, pNA is released, which can be quantified by measuring absorbance, allowing researchers to assess caspase-1 activation and its role in inflammation, apoptosis, and other immune-related processes.
