Amorolfine hydrochloride(Cat No.:A000580)is a morpholine-derived antifungal agent applied topically, often as a nail lacquer, to treat onychomycosis (fungal nail infections) caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds. It inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, a key fungal cell membrane component, by targeting Δ14 reductase and Δ7-8 isomerase enzymes. This disruption weakens fungal cell membranes and hampers growth, ultimately clearing infections. Amorolfine HCl generally shows good efficacy and tolerability with minimal systemic absorption. Its application over several months typically improves nail appearance and reduces fungal burden, often ensuring improved patient outcomes and compliance.
