AMZ30 (CAT: I001201) is a selective covalent inhibitor of protein phosphatase methylesterase-1 (PME-1). With an IC50 value of 600 nM, AMZ30 selectively inactivates PME-1, an enzyme responsible for demethylating the catalytic subunit of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A). By inhibiting PME-1, AMZ30 reduces the demethylated form of PP2A within living cells. This selective action on PME-1 and modulation of PP2A methylation has important implications for cellular signaling and various biological processes. Ongoing research aims to further explore the pharmacologic actions of AMZ30 and its potential applications in areas such as cancer therapy and neurodegenerative diseases.
