Diphenylbromomethane (Cat No.:R032238) is also known as 1,1 ‘- (Bromomethylene) bisbenzene; Diphenylmethyl Bromide; NSC 39226; α- Bromodiphenylmethane et al., diphenyl bromomethane is an intermediate for preparing Modafinil (I). Modafinil is the generic name of 2 – (diphenylmethylthionyl) acetamide. Diphenylbromomethane is also used as a reagent for the synthesis of O – (triazolyl) methyl carbamate, as a new and effective fatty acid amidhydrolase (FAAH) inhibitor.
