Bis-ANS (Cat.No:I011330), also known as 4,4′-dianilino-1,1′-binaphthyl-5,5′-disulfonic acid, is a fluorescent dye used to study protein folding, binding, and aggregation. It is highly sensitive to hydrophobic environments and has been used to detect protein unfolding and misfolding. Bis-ANS binds to exposed hydrophobic regions in proteins, resulting in a shift in its fluorescence spectra. It has also been used to study the binding of small molecules to proteins and the interaction of proteins with membranes.
