BQ-123 sodium (CAT: I005254) is a potent and selective antagonist of the ETA endothelin receptor. It exhibits a high affinity for the ETA receptor with a Ki value of 1.4 nM while showing a much lower affinity for the ETB receptor (Ki value of 1500 nM). BQ-123 sodium inhibits endothelin-1 (ET-1) receptor binding, preventing Ca²⁺ mobilization, cellular contraction, and activation of MAP kinase. By blocking the ETA receptor, BQ-123 sodium can modulate endothelin signaling. It has potential applications in studying the physiological and pathological roles of endothelin receptors and their involvement in various conditions and diseases.
