Carboxyatractyloside (Cat.No:I018566) is a naturally occurring toxin that inhibits the mitochondrial ADP/ATP translocator, an essential protein for energy metabolism in eukaryotic cells. As a result of its action, oxidative phosphorylation is inhibited, and the electron transport chain is disrupted, leading to cellular dysfunction and apoptosis. Carboxyatractyloside has been used as a tool to study mitochondrial function and the role of the ADP/ATP translocator in cellular physiology.
