CGP 36216 is a selective antagonist of GABA<sub>B</sub> receptors (IC<sub>50</sub> = 43 µM). Its action is reversed by the GABA<sub>B</sub> receptor agonist baclofen. It is active at presynaptic, but not postsynaptic, receptors.
