Chlorproguanil hydrochloride(Cat No.:R074805) is an antimalarial drug that was once used in combination with dapsone as a treatment for malaria. It works by inhibiting the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) in the malaria parasite, preventing the parasite from synthesizing DNA and ultimately leading to its death. However, due to widespread resistance to chlorproguanil-dapsone therapy, its use has been largely discontinued. Chlorproguanil hydrochloride is no longer recommended for the treatment of malaria, and alternative antimalarial medications are now preferred.
