Cholic acid, also known as Cholalin and Orphacol, is a bile acid used to treat inborn errors of primary bile acid synthesis. Cholic acid It facilitates fat absorption and cholesterol excretion. Cholic acid is produced in the liver and usually conjugated with glycine or taurine.
