Chrysosplenetin(Cat No.:R004000) is a polymethoxylated flavonoid present in Artemisia annua and other Chinese herbal medicines. It possesses inhibitory effects on P-glycoprotein (P-gp) activity and can reverse the upregulation of P-gp and MDR1 levels induced by artemisinin (ART). Chrysosplenetin has been shown to enhance the plasma levels of ART and improve its antimalarial efficacy in rats. This effect is attributed, at least in part, to its noncompetitive inhibition of rat CYP3A. These findings suggest the potential of chrysosplenetin as an adjuvant in malaria treatment.
