Cilostamide(Cat No.:I010325), also known as OPC 3689, is a potent inhibitor of type III phosphodiesterases (PDE3A and PDE3B). It exhibits IC50 values of 27 nM and 50 nM for PDE3A and PDE3B, respectively. By selectively targeting these phosphodiesterases, cilostamide interferes with the breakdown of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), leading to increased intracellular cAMP levels. This mechanism of action results in various physiological effects, including vasodilation, antiplatelet activity, and positive inotropic effects on cardiac muscle.
