CMPD-1 (CAT: I010520) is a non-ATP-competitive inhibitor that selectively targets the phosphorylation of MK2a (mitogen-activated protein kinase-2a) mediated by p38α. It exhibits an apparent Ki value of 330 nM for this inhibition. CMPD-1 does not inhibit p38α-mediated phosphorylation of MBP (myelin basic protein) and ATF-2 (activating transcription factor 2). Additionally, it acts as an inhibitor of tubulin polymerization. Notably, CMPD-1 demonstrates cytotoxic effects on glioblastoma cells at concentrations that do not affect the MK2 pathway.
