Collagenase, Type I(CAT: I040753) is a crude collagen-degrading enzyme preparation derived primarily from Clostridium histolyticum. It contains a mix of collagenase enzymes, caseinase, clostripain, and trypsin-like proteases, optimized for degrading native collagen types I, II, and III in connective tissues. Collagenase Type I is widely used in cell isolation protocols, particularly for digesting extracellular matrix during the preparation of primary cells from tissues such as liver, adipose, skin, and heart. Its ability to efficiently release cells with minimal damage makes it valuable for applications in cell culture, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and biomedical research.
