Cyproheptadine(Cat No.:M070344)is a first-generation antihistamine that primarily blocks histamine receptors (H1 receptor antagonists), and is used to treat allergic conditions such as hay fever, rhinitis, and urticaria (hives). In addition to its antihistamine effects, cyproheptadine has anticholinergic and sedative properties. It is also used off-label to stimulate appetite in patients with conditions such as anorexia or cachexia. Cyproheptadine can be prescribed for its ability to reduce the symptoms of seasonal allergies and itching, but side effects may include drowsiness, dry mouth, and blurred vision.
