Dehydroabietic Acid (CAS 1740-19-8)  is an abietane diterpenoid with the role as a metabolite and an allergen. Dehydroabietic acid is resin acids used in the production of wood pulp and common in paper mill effluents. It has potential as treatment for obesity and metabolic syndrome, obese diabetic KK-Ay mice treated with dehydroabietic acid showed decreased plasma glucose, insulin, and triglyceride levels.
