Dexrazoxane(Cat No.:I002831), also known as ICRF187, is a cardioprotective agent used to mitigate the potential cardiotoxic effects of certain chemotherapeutic drugs, particularly anthracyclines like doxorubicin. It functions by chelating iron and preventing its interaction with anthracyclines, thereby reducing the formation of reactive oxygen species and inhibiting oxidative damage to cardiac cells. Dexrazoxane has been shown to reduce the incidence and severity of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity, making it a valuable addition to cancer treatment regimens where cardioprotection is a concern.
