Dextran sulfate sodium(CAS 9011-18-1) is a long chain polymer of sulfated glucose, containing 17 – 20% sulfur. It has been used as an anticoagulant and has been shown to inhibit the binding of HIV-1 to CD4+ T lymphocytes. It's also used to accelerate hybridization of DNA probes to immobilized nucleic acids.
