EACC(CAT: I017944) is a reversible autophagy inhibitor that blocks autophagic flux by selectively inhibiting the translocation of the autophagosome-specific SNARE protein, Stx17. This inhibition prevents the fusion of autophagosomes with lysosomes, effectively disrupting the final stage of autophagy. EACC uniquely inhibits Stx17 loading onto autophagosomes without affecting endo-lysosomal function, RABs, tethers, or lysosomal SNAREs, while also preventing their interaction with LC3 and Stx17. Widely used in cellular and molecular biology research, EACC is a valuable tool for studying autophagy mechanisms, intracellular trafficking, and the development of therapeutic strategies targeting autophagy in diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration.
