Econazole is a broad-spectrum imidazole antifungal drug, which can not only interfere with the biosynthesis of fungal cell membrane, but also inhibit the synthesis of ribonucleic acid. It has bactericidal or bacteriostatic effects on dermatophytes, yeasts, biphasic fungi, and aspergillus. In addition, it also has certain antibacterial effects on Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Tetani.
