Erythrosine B (CAS 16423-68-0), a xanthene dye, has been used as a dye in fluorescence lifetime imaging. It plays a major role in inhibiting dopamine uptake and high affinity 3H-ouabain binding and ion transport in synaptosomes from rat caudate nucleus.
