Fluxametamide (CAT: I019941) is an insecticide that exhibits a broad spectrum of activity against various pests. It functions as an antagonist of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid)-gated chloride channels and glutamate-gated chloride channels in insects. It has an IC50 value of 1.95 nM for GABACls (GABA-gated chloride channels) of Musca domestica (housefly) and an IC50 value of 225 nM for GluCls (glutamate-gated chloride channels). By blocking these chloride channels, fluxametamide disrupts inhibitory and excitatory neurotransmission in insects, leading to paralysis and ultimately causing insect death.
