Folinic acid(Cat No.:I000020), also known as leucovorin, is a form of folate (vitamin B9) that is used primarily in medicine to enhance the efficacy of certain chemotherapy agents, particularly methotrexate, and to mitigate its toxic effects. It acts as a rescue therapy by replenishing folate levels in healthy cells after high-dose methotrexate treatment, helping to prevent side effects like bone marrow suppression. Folinic acid is also used to treat megaloblastic anemia caused by folate deficiency and is sometimes administered in combination with 5-fluorouracil to enhance anti-cancer activity in colorectal cancer therapy.
