Fomepizole, also known as 4-Methylpyrazole and Antizol, is an alcohol dehydrogenase inhibitor used for the treatment of ethylene glycol and methanol poisonings in adults. Fomepizole is a competitive antagonist of alcohol dehydrogenase with a binding affinity >8000 times that of ethanol.
