Fosfluconazole(Cat No.:I002485)is a prodrug of fluconazole, an antifungal agent used to treat a variety of fungal infections. It is converted to fluconazole in the body, where it exerts its activity by inhibiting fungal cytochrome P450 enzymes, particularly lanosterol demethylase, disrupting the synthesis of ergosterol, a critical component of fungal cell membranes. This leads to fungal cell death. Fosfluconazole is primarily used in the treatment of systemic fungal infections, including candidiasis and cryptococcosis, offering an alternative to traditional fluconazole with improved pharmacokinetics and oral bioavailability.
