Fura-FF AM(CAT: R066764) is a membrane-permeable, ratiometric fluorescent dye used for monitoring intracellular calcium (Ca²⁺) dynamics, especially under high calcium conditions. It is a low-affinity analog of Fura-2, making it suitable for detecting rapid or large calcium transients in neurons, muscle cells, and cardiomyocytes. The acetoxymethyl (AM) ester form facilitates easy cellular uptake, where intracellular esterases convert it into the active, Ca²⁺-sensitive form. Fura-FF AM enables dual-wavelength excitation, allowing for accurate, quantitative, and real-time Ca²⁺ measurements. It is widely used in calcium signaling, neurophysiology, and pharmacological studies, providing reliable data on cellular responses and calcium homeostasis.
