G907 (Cat No.:I018118) is a selective small-molecule antagonist that targets the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter, MsbA. It exerts its inhibitory action by binding to purified E. coli MsbA in the presence of amphipols, with an IC50 of 18 nM. G907 functions by trapping MsbA in an inward-facing conformation, which is bound to lipopolysaccharide. This conformational trapping is achieved by G907 wedging into a conserved transmembrane pocket within MsbA. Furthermore, G907 has demonstrated bactericidal activity. Further research and development of G907 may explore its potential applications in combating bacterial infections by targeting ABC transporters such as MsbA.
