Gallopamil, (-)-(Cat No.:I027916)is a calcium channel blocker primarily used to treat cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension and angina. It selectively inhibits L-type calcium channels, reducing calcium influx into smooth muscle cells and cardiac myocytes, leading to vasodilation and decreased heart rate. This mechanism helps to lower blood pressure and improve blood flow to the heart, reducing the workload on the heart. Gallopamil, (-)- has been studied for its antiarrhythmic properties as well. Research into its long-term safety and efficacy continues, especially in comparison to other calcium channel blockers.
