Hematoporphyrin (Cat.No:I001712) is a porphyrin compound derived from red blood cells. It has been used in photodynamic therapy (PDT) for the treatment of certain cancers. When activated by light, hematoporphyrin can generate reactive oxygen species that selectively destroy tumor cells. It is also used as a diagnostic tool for detecting and localizing cancerous lesions.
