C<sub>19</sub>-norditerpenoid alkaloid<!–C<sub>22</sub>H<sub>33</sub>NO<sub>5</sub>–>, from <i>Aconitum heterophyllum</i> of the Ranunculaceae family.<br />
<p>
It has antiarrhythmic and antifibrillatory activity on experimental arrhythmias caused by <strong>Aconitine</strong>, calcium chloride, cardiac electric stimulation and artery occlusion. The active dosage ranges from 5 to 20 mg/kg in mammals. <br />
<strong>Heteratisine </strong>is more active, more cardioselective and less toxic than <strong>Quinidine</strong>.
