iKIX1 (Cat No.:R066661) is an inhibitor targeting interactions between the transcription co-activator Mediator complex and the pleiotropic drug resistance (CgPdr1) transcription factor in Candida glabrata. It functions by blocking the interaction between the KIX domain of the Mediator subunit CgGal11A and the activation domain of CgPdr1, with an IC50 of 190.2 μM. Pharmacologically, iKIX1 (10 and 30 μM) effectively inhibits ketoconazole-induced expression of CgPdr1-target genes responsible for multidrug resistance and drug efflux in C. glabrata. This potential therapeutic agent shows promise in combating drug resistance in C. glabrata infections, warranting further exploration in antimicrobial strategies.
