INF55(CAT: I007334) is a compound known as a NorA efflux pump inhibitor. NorA is an efflux pump found in certain bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, that is responsible for pumping out various antibiotics from the bacterial cell, leading to antibiotic resistance. By inhibiting the NorA efflux pump, INF55 may prevent the removal of antibiotics from bacterial cells, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of antibiotics against NorA-expressing bacteria. This mechanism of action makes INF55 potentially useful in combating antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.
