IRE1-IN-VII (CAT: I012551) is an inhibitor of the endoribonuclease activity of IRE1 (inositol-requiring enzyme 1), a key component of the unfolded protein response (UPR) pathway. It has been shown to strongly inhibit the splicing of XBP-1 (X-box binding protein 1), a downstream target of IRE1, in cellular models of acute endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. By inhibiting IRE1 activity, IRE1-IN-VII can modulate the UPR pathway and potentially attenuate the cellular response to ER stress.
