JNJ4796(Cat No.:I019305)is an orally active small-molecule fusion inhibitor targeting the hemagglutinin (HA) stem region of group 1 influenza A viruses. By binding to this conserved region, it prevents the conformational changes necessary for viral fusion and entry into host cells. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that JNJ4796 effectively neutralizes a broad spectrum of group 1 influenza A viruses and offers protection in mouse models against lethal viral challenges. Its mechanism of action is similar to that of broadly neutralizing antibodies but offers the advantage of oral administration.
