LY 78335(CAT: I010885) is a high-affinity inhibitor of phenylethanolamine-N-methyltransferase (PNMT). PNMT is an enzyme involved in the conversion of norepinephrine to epinephrine, a process important in the synthesis of catecholamines. By inhibiting PNMT, LY 78335 can block the activity of this enzyme and potentially reduce the production of epinephrine. In an in vivo rat model, LY 78335 has been shown to suppress the release of growth hormone.
