M4284(Cat No.:I017175)is a selective, orally active biphenyl mannoside that functions as a FimH antagonist. It exhibits activity against various uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) strains, which are responsible for urinary tract infections (UTIs). By targeting the FimH adhesin, M4284 impedes UPEC’s ability to adhere to host tissues, thereby reducing bacterial colonization in the gut and urinary tract. In murine models, oral administration of M4284 at 100 mg/kg effectively decreased UPEC populations without significantly disrupting the gut microbiota, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic agent for UTIs.
