MCU-i4 (CAT: I031690) is a novel compound that functions as a negative modulator of the mitochondrial calcium uniporter (MCU). It acts by binding to MICU1, a regulatory subunit of the MCU complex, and disrupting its normal function. By impairing the activity of the MCU, MCU-i4 interferes with the transport of calcium ions into the mitochondria. This disruption of calcium homeostasis has been shown to affect muscle cell growth.
