Meloxicam-d3(CAT: R004987) is a deuterium-labeled form of meloxicam. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that belongs to the oxicam class. Its mode of action involves inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, particularly COX-2, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins that cause inflammation, pain, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin levels, meloxicam exerts its pharmacologic action as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic agent. The deuterium-labeled version, meloxicam-d3, is used in pharmacokinetic and bioavailability studies to track and analyze the metabolism and distribution of meloxicam in the body.
