Mercaptodecaborate, N-BSH（Cat No.:R008150）, is a chemical compound containing a boron atom bonded to sulfur and hydrogen atoms, known as a boron mercaptide. It is used as a boron delivery agent in boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), a promising cancer treatment method. In BNCT, tumor cells are selectively targeted by incorporating boron-containing compounds, like N-BSH. When these boron compounds are exposed to neutron radiation, they release high-energy alpha particles, effectively killing the cancer cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. Research continues to explore its potential in cancer treatment, particularly for brain tumors and other challenging-to-treat cancers.
